Nancy Dorrier, Co-Founder and Senior Consultant, and Author
Nancy Dorrier is a senior consultant and former president of Dorrier Underwood which she co-founded with Judith Underwood in 1986. She coaches CEOs and leaders around the world to invent and implement bold visions, and has earned a reputation for making a dramatic impact on people's lives.
As a writer and public speaker, she personifies authenticity, inspiring leadership, fresh thinking, and commitment in others. She believes that being deeply satisfied with one’s work is a matter of personal integrity, and that being true to one’s self gives access to high performance and extraordinary results.
Nancy’s reputation as an executive coach is an outgrowth of her respect for the inherent talents of others, her gift for careful listening, and her background in psychology and social work. She models a brilliant blend of compassion and practicality, giving space for people’s humanity, while being unyielding about integrity.
As the visionary behind Dorrier Underwood, Nancy leads the professional development of her team in areas of communication, sales, and strategic planning. She is unrivaled in her ability to translate strategy into action through practices that have the vision and values live in day-to-day operations and priorities.
Nancy earned a BA in Psychology at Queens College and a Masters in Social Work at UNC Chapel Hill. Her social work career focused on family issues and substance abuse. In 1986 she returned to school and took several courses at the Darden Business School at the University of Virginia.
In addition to being recognized as an influential business and community leader, she received the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award from Queens University for her work with water development projects and women's vocational training in East Africa.
Nancy is an author who uses expressive writing with executives to maximize their effectiveness as leaders. She is enthusiastic about having conversations that make a difference, collecting art, and learning amazing things from her grandchildren. Nancy has written two books.
